What did they think?

From a teen perspective, the novel My Mama, My Teacha, was exciting from beginning to end. The teenagers: Tasha, Royalty, Tyrone, Bernard, Shantel, Lil’ Tee, Angie, Kea, Zion and others dealt with some of the same issues all teens deal with: peer pressure, betrayal, trust, friendship, school drama, sports issues, violence, parental drug addiction, and even death. I laughed, I cried but most of all, I did a lot of thinking. I know most teens don’t like to read but I’m glad I took the time to read this book!!

After reading the book, My Mama, My Teacha, I wanted to express how much I enjoyed the novel. The characters were very realistic and so relative. I saw so many people I know personally in each one of those created fictionally. I could not put the book down and I want everyone I know to read it!! I can’t wait for the sequel!! There will be a sequel, won’t it??! I want to see what happens with the main character, Monica Butler, and whether she will meet someone who can appreciate her strength and softness with respect and authentic love.
